Ski Town Minimalism A Hollywood Couple's Mountain Sanctuary
Corner House is located in Park City, Utah, USA. It is a mountain vacation home renovated by interior designer Susannah Holmberg. Its owners are a couple of top Hollywood stars who hope to have a private refuge away from the hustle and bustle in the ski town. The design concept proposed by Homberg was called "Ski Town Minimalism" by her. Through the ingenious integration of organic materials, vintage furniture and modern structures, this originally ordinary Western-style farmhouse from the 1980s was given a new lease of life.

In the spatial renovation, Homberg almost dismantled the original internal layout to enhance fluidity and completely renew the atmosphere. She chose a simple material tone, interweaving earthy tones, wood tones and natural fiber fabrics to create a quiet layering. The restaurant space is highly representative: The floor is covered with hand-woven Berber carpets, paired with monk chairs designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa in the 1970s. The combination of walnut, iron and leather presents a sense of both classical and solid power. The chandelier, handcrafted from banana fiber and linen, is suspended above a bronze frame, infusing the space with a soft glow.

The kitchen showcases the designer's lightness and delicacy. The combination of white oak shelves, Moroccan zellige handcrafted tile backsplashes and plastered range hoods strikes a balance between functionality and decoration. The custom-made Totem-shaped kitchen island counter legs and the fluid wooden railings crafted by local artisans respond to her respect for regional craftsmanship. Through the adjustment of local details, Holmberg makes the space of limited scale both intimate and rich in texture.

In the living room, the designer did not choose to remove the bulky large arched window but instead used her self-created modular sofa made of grayish-brown wool blend to break the awkward proportion of the space. It is complemented by a side table by Sarah Sherman Samuel and a 1970s lounge chair by Jan Ekselius, infusing the space with flexibility and fun. The bedroom space is dominated by earthy tones and Scandinavian design furniture, such as a replica of the Greta Magnusson-Grossman lounge chair and a floor lamp by Jonas Wagell, presenting an upscale hygge atmosphere.

Through these design languages that transcend regions and eras, Corner House does not merely pursue visual impact but constructs a contemporary aesthetic that deeply engages in dialogue with the mountainous environment. It integrates vintage furniture, traditional craftsmanship and international design sense, enabling the vacation residence to maintain a distinct personality and style in tranquility.

Nestled in the mountains of Park City, the Corner House reveals how thoughtful design can transform space into a sanctuary—much like the way our Matera Charming Exquisite Floral Print Pillow Cover brings artistry and tranquility into your home.

Just as designer Susannah Holmberg wove vintage pieces and organic textures into her "Ski Town Minimalism" vision, this pillow merges delicate botanicals with soft linen, adding a touch of refined nature to any room. Whether placed against a wool-blend sofa or a rustic armchair, it echoes the same balance of elegance and ease that defines timeless mountain retreats. For those who believe home should be both a refuge and an expression of beauty—just like a certain Hollywood couple’s hideaway—Matera is here to help you create moments of quiet poetry in your everyday.
