The design of the house is inspired primarily by the client's collection of vintage watercolours, whose romantic and evocative light impression provides the basis for the entire colour palette and design scheme. Through the meticulous use of color, Melissa Lee has created a living space that is both modern and warm.

The main colors are different levels of green, from soft sage green to rich hunter green, which create a calm and layered feel throughout the house. In the music room, Farrow & Ball's lichen green brings a calm atmosphere to the space, and it seems that a piano can be heard playing in the background. The study uses Benjamin Moore's October Mist to create a sense of mono-toned tranquillity that makes perfect use of the natural light in the room.

To balance out the green, Melissa also subtly paired pink with green. Pink sofas and decorations bring a soft contrast to the space, making the overall design more elegant and comfortable. Meanwhile, Benjamin Moore's Balboa Mist has been applied to the living room walls, and the warm grey undertone highlights the gorgeous effect of natural light and enhances the sense of openness of the space.

In the design, Melissa also chose navy blue wall and William Morris wallpaper, which combined traditional and modern visual interest. This color combination not only increased the visual sense of layer, but also reflected the contrast of dark and light colors.
