Du Lac Residence Lakefront Calm Meets Family Warmth
The Du Lac Residence was designed by Blanc Marine Intérieurs. It is a second home by the lake that centers around family gatherings. The architecture and interior design draw inspiration from the surrounding natural landscape, creating a continuous and restrained harmony between the residence and the lake, trees, and light in terms of spatial atmosphere. The overall aesthetics are based on high-quality materials such as stone and wood, complemented by a low-saturation color scheme, which visually creates a calm and durable impression while emphasizing comfort and functional efficiency in daily use.

Spatial organization is the key element of this project. There is a clear and gentle transition between the open public areas and the private spaces, allowing family members to achieve a natural balance between sharing and solitude. The relationship between living, dining, and the landscape is smooth and fluid, while the bedrooms and relaxation areas present a more quiet and restrained atmosphere through changes in scale and materials. The spacious ceiling height and transparent volume enhance the sense of space breathing, and natural light becomes an important element in shaping the indoor experience.

Custom-made furniture holds a central position in residential spaces, together with oversized woodwork and lighting fixtures, forming a distinct and confident spatial expression. These designs do not aim for ostentatious decoration; instead, through proportion, texture, and detail handling, they give the residence a warm and composed sense of presence. The Durak residence thus presents a living state that lies between vacation and daily life, integrating a deep response to family emotions and the natural environment within the framework of rational design logic.

Beyond the interior’s quiet choreography, the lake itself becomes a living extension of the house. Dawn fog lifts off the water and drifts through the retractable corner glazing, curling around the breakfast island before dissolving into the warmth of the stone floor; at dusk, the western façade acts like a camera obscura, projecting ripples of rose-gold light onto the living-room ceiling so that even the custom oak dining table seems to shimmer. Generations gather here without ceremony—grandparents read by the suspended steel hearth while children sprint barefoot from deck to dock, their laughter echoing up into the hollow cedar beams. In this unhurried rhythm, Du Lac transcends the notion of a second home; it is a calendar of shifting reflections, a thermometer of familial moods, and a quiet promise that every return will feel like the first breath after diving into still, clear water.

In the Du Lac Residence, where dawn mist rolls across heated stone floors and dusk ripples dance on cedar-clad ceilings, the Bibury Reversible Linen Pillow Cover with Tassels becomes the quiet bridge between lake and living room: flip its stone-washed side to echo the shoreline greys rippling through the retractable glazing, then turn to the sun-bleached sand hue to mirror the breakfast island’s morning glow. Hand-tied linen tassels catch the breeze that drifts off the water, adding a tactile whisper to the custom oak banquet without ever competing with Blanc Marine’s calm palette—so whether grandparents curl up by the suspended hearth or children tumble in from the dock, one casual scatter of Bibury pillows translates every shifting reflection of the lake into a soft, lived-in moment the whole family can hold.
