Residence Lionel Dube Harmonizing Heritage and Modernity
Residence Lionel- Dube is located on a forest plot with beautiful natural scenery. It is a residential reconstruction project with the core concept of giving equal weight to respecting history and innovation. An old house with a history of over a hundred years once stood here on the original site, providing an important source of inspiration for this design. The project owner hopes to establish new residences for young families on this land that holds memories and authorizes the design team to have full freedom in terms of concept and detail control.

In terms of the overall design language, the project is deeply inspired by the interior style of traditional Canadian residences. The design team reconstructed many historical detail elements with a rigorous attitude, enabling the new residence to continue the spiritual traits of the old house visually and in terms of experience. Among them, the small Windows on the doors and Windows (impostes), the delicate wooden wall panels (lambris), the retro-style solid wood door panels, the handcrafted wooden ceiling structure, and the open kitchen that combines functionality and a sense of home have all become important components of the spatial narrative.

The selection of materials and the processing techniques both reflect the combination of respect for traditional craftsmanship and contemporary standards. Wood is widely used in space, not only as a structural support element, but also retaining the natural texture in surface treatment to enhance the overall historical texture and affinity. In terms of spatial layout, on the basis of following the traditional residential zoning logic, the modern open living concept is moderately introduced to meet the contemporary families' demands for mobility and interactivity.

Residence Lionel- Dube is not only a place for living, but also a cultural continuation and emotional carrier that connects the past and the present. Through the overall coordination in architectural language, material application and spatial atmosphere, the contemporary expression of the memory of the original site has been successfully achieved.

Nestled in the heart of a forest plot with breathtaking natural scenery, Residence Lionel-Dube is a testament to the perfect balance between respecting history and embracing innovation. This reconstructed residence, inspired by the spirit of a century-old house, seamlessly integrates traditional Canadian design elements with modern living concepts. The warm wood textures, rustic details, and open spaces create a cozy yet contemporary atmosphere that feels like a connection to the past.
